NZLC supports students in finding a suitable high school in New Zealand. An “NZLC Leaver’s Report” will be issued when the student reaches the required level and this can help students gain entry into a local high school. NZLC has relationships with most reputable school in New Zealand
NZLC is an approved Education Provider taking part in the Pilot Pathway Student Visa Scheme
Students can only apply for a Pathway Student Visa if they have an offer of place from one or more education providers that are taking part in the Pathway Student Visa pilot.
NZLC is an approved education provider which means students can apply for a course at NZLC and another education provider under just one visa!
The first class approach is communicative and learners are encouraged to use and practise the language as much as possible. The teaching methods are skills-based (reading, writing, listening and speaking) with vocabulary and grammar structures introduced around interesting and relevant themes to suit and motivate young learners.
The second classes focus on project based learning centred around specific themes relevant to this age group. The learning outcomes are aligned with the NZ ESOL curriculum, for example, creating an information report or describing a process while also providing practice of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, virtual learning and technology in the classroom. The course also highlights the importance of a collaborative learning environment where cultural diversity is embraced.
